The original Canberra Bus Shelter Lamp, officially endorsed by the estate of Clem Cummings, the architect behind Canberra's iconic concrete bus shelters.

Designed, 3D printed, and hand assembled by us right here in Canberra, our lamp is a tabletop tribute to one of the city's most recognisable pieces of suburban architecture.

As the very first to transform this much-loved Canberra icon into a functional lamp, we've created more than just a light. It's a warm glow for the memories made possible by Clem Cummings' iconic design, from first kisses and endless summer nights to cheeky shenanigans with friends.

Powered by USB-C and radiating a warm 3000K glow, the lamp is switched on and off with a discreet button built right into the roof. No fiddly remote, no inline switch on the cable, and no cable poking out through the top. Just reach over, tap, and enjoy the glow.

Usually, a lit-up bus shelter means it's late, dark, and you'd rather be literally anywhere else.

This version, though, is all warmth, comfort, and zero chance of a delayed bus.

FAQ

WHEN WILL THE LAMPS BE BACK IN STOCK?

We’ll be restocking the website every Monday by 12pm!

We’ll spend the week making lamps, then release the finished batch for sale so orders can be packed and shipped straight away, with no more waiting around.

Because every lamp is handmade by the two of us, there’s a limit to how many we can make each week. Once a batch sells out, the next restock will be the following Monday.

If you don’t want to miss out, be sure to sign up for stock notifications and we’ll let you know as soon as lamps are available!

ARE YOU REALLY THE ORIGINAL BUS SHELTER LAMP?

Absolutely! When we launched back in April 2026, we did extensive market research to see if there were any other bus shelter lamps out there. We were very stoked to be the first!

WHERE IS MY PREORDER?

ARE THESE REALLY HANDMADE?

Yes! We designed and 3D modelled every part of the lamp, then 3D print them ourselves. Once the prints are finished, each one is individually prepped, sanded, filed, thermoformed, glued and assembled. We also hand-wire every lamp with a custom LED and USB-C cable.

And it’s all done by just the two of us, 100 metres from an actual Canberra bus stop. So yes, when we say handmade in Canberra, we really mean it!

CAN YOU MAKE A WIRELESS VERSION?

Not currently! A wireless version is possible, but it requires a rechargeable battery and comes with additional safety and compliance considerations.

There are off-the-shelf wireless light kits that could make this easier, but we want to make the best possible light rather than simply fitting a pre-made light into the lamp.

For now, we’ve kept ours USB-C powered for a brighter, more reliable light, while we work towards a wireless version we’re genuinely happy with!

WHAT TYPE OF PLUG CAN I USE?

Our lamps use standard 5V USB power, so you can use them with any certified 5V USB power adapter.

It doesn’t need to be rated for a specific wattage, as the lamp only draws the power it needs!

We’re currently in the process of sourcing our own recommended USB power adapters to offer as an add-on, but until then, any good-quality, certified 5V adapter from a reputable brand will work.

WEEKLY RESTOCKS

We make every Bus Shelter Lamp ourselves, from 3D printing each part through to the final wiring and assembly. Because they’re handmade by just the two of us, we can only produce a limited number each week.

Every Monday at 12pm, we’ll release the lamps we’ve finished that week. Once you place your order, your lamp will be ready to go and will ship straight away, so there’s no more waiting for your lamp to be made.

Once that week’s batch sells out, the next opportunity to purchase will be the following Monday at 12pm.
